The far side of the Moon is rugged, chaotic, and hidden from Earth. This work visualises lunar elevation derived from NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Laser Altimeter (LOLA) gridded dataset. Elevation is mapped in metres and rendered as a simple cylindrical projection of longitudes 90°–270°. Darker tones indicate lower terrain, including the South Pole–Aitken basin, while lighter tones indicate higher farside highlands.
